Professionals for Merritt
(August 5, 2008) -- Dale Merritt and Brooke Merritt
Chalk, State Auditor Leslie Merritt’s adult
children, have been named Honorary Co-Chairs of
Young Professionals for Merritt. "It is
essential to have your family’s support in an
endeavor as important as a statewide campaign,” said
Auditor Merritt. “I am grateful that Dale and
Brooke, who as young professionals already have a
number of other obligations on their plates, are
willing to take an active role in my re-election
effort. Brooke and Dale are why I chose to enter
public service. Their generation and those who
follow them will inherit the state and nation we
leave behind, and I am committed to doing my part to
ensure that they inherit a state that is in sound
financial shape.”

State Employees endorse
Auditor Merritt for re-election
(July
28, 2008) -- The Employees Political Action
Committee, a subsidiary of the State Employees
Association of North Carolina (SEANC), has endorsed
State Auditor Leslie Merritt for re-election.
Merritt, who is serving his first term, is the only
Republican candidate for the Council of State to
earn SEANC’s endorsement in 2008. The endorsements
were approved Saturday by SEANC’s Board of
Governors.

Holshouser, Martin, Gardner & Faircloth named
Honorary Campaign Co-Chairs
(January 23, 2008) -- State Auditor Les
Merritt today announced that former governors Jim Holshouser and Jim Martin, former Lt. Governor Jim
Gardner and former U.S. Senator Lauch Faircloth will
serve as Honorary Co-Chairs of his 2008 re-election
campaign.
